What is the difference between MS Access and MS SQL?
Actually the differences are quite dramatic. MS Access is designed to be primarily a small business database that has a relatively easy to learn graphic user interface. The GUI help entry level programmers visualize the process much more easily. It does have limitations on the number of concurrent users and the size of the database. MS SQL’s power is only limited by the amount of computer processing power you can throw at it. It can handle millions of transaction per minute and work with very large databases. It does not have a graphic user interface therefore it must be manually coded so entry level programmers need not apply. It is the platform of choice for many websites, ERP solutions and CRM systems.
