What is video compositing?
Video compositing is the layering of two or more separate video or image elements to create a new seamless video. Compositing is used to add 3D characters to traditional video to make it look like the 3D character is actually interacting with a real person or environment. It is also used when combining a chroma-keyed (green screen) silhouetted video with a background image like during the nightly weather report. When done properly composing can create dramatic video footage that is very engaging and memorable.
